Zane’s heading out of the bookstore with an armload of new books, which included a sodoku book for Ty. It’d been an impulse thing and fairly cheap, but Ty had a knack for puzzles and Zane thought he’d might like it. And, if he changed his mind again (since he’d already flip-flopped over it six times), he could keep it and do it himself.
He hears laughter and glances over his shoulder, his heart free-falling into his stomach at the sight of Ty halfway down the block with a group of friends. They all look like football players and are generally being rowdy teenagers. The redheaded guy and Ty are in a mock sparring match, taking slow punches at each other and laughing riotously.
Goddamn, Zane loves Ty’s laugh.
